Liverpool and Manchester City keen on Youri Tielemans

Youri Tielemans-Leicester City

Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans has been linked with a move away from the Premier League club at the end of this season. It appears that the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City are interested in securing his services.

According to a report via Leicester mercury, the Belgian international could leave the Foxes at the end of this season in search of Champions League football. It will be interesting to see where he ends up.

Tielemans has established himself as one of the best central midfielders in the Premier League over the past year. He would be an excellent long term acquisition for the two Premier League clubs.

Liverpool need to bring in a quality central midfielder to replace the likes of James Milner in the summer, and Tielemans would be a solid replacement. Club captain Jordan Henderson has not been at his best for a while, and Jurgen Klopp needs to bring in an upgrade soon. Furthermore, the likes of Naby Keita and Thiago Alcantara have been relatively injury prone since joining the club, and the central midfield department is in need of freshening up.

Tielemans is well settled in the Premier League, and he could make an immediate impact upon his move to Anfield next season.

Similarly, Manchester City could use a quality playmaker who can replace Ilkay Gundogan in the long run, and the Belgian international seems like a perfect fit.

The Leicester City star is an exceptional passer, and he can chip in with vital goals as well. The midfielder scored an outstanding goal in the final of the FA Cup last season, and he has the potential to play at the highest level with the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool.

Both clubs are capable of challenging for the major trophies consistently, and joining them would be the ideal next step in the Belgian’s career.

The midfielder is unlikely to come cheap, and his suitors will have to shell out a premium to secure his signature in the summer.

It seems highly unlikely that Leicester City will be able to qualify for Champions League football. Therefore it is fair to assume that the midfielder will move on this summer.
