Arsenal are interested in Leicester City playmaker Maddison
Reports have been circulating about Arsenal‘s interest in Leicester City midfielder James Maddison and now transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has provided a major update.
The Italian journalist has confirmed the Gunners interest in the English midfielder while stating they could be priced out of a move.
Romano also added that the North Londoners admire Maddison as they feel that he is well suited to their style of play.
Mikel Arteta is currently sorting out the midfield reinforcements due to the lack of options, and Granit Xhaka is also on the verge of completing a move to AS Roma.
Maddison has been one of the Premier League‘s finest midfielders over the last few seasons, helping Brendan Rodgers’ side to be regular top-four contenders.
Given his importance to the Foxes, Gunners would be required to splurge a lot of money for the 24-year-old.
Sheffield United reveal Aaron Ramsdale price
Arsenal are understood to be interested in Sheffield United goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, who has caught the eyes of many with his impressive showings last season.
The 23-year-old was one of the top performers in an otherwise lacklustre Blades side, who have been relegated to the Championship.
Gunners are keen on bringing a competent keeper to challenge Bern Leno, who looked out of sorts last season. They have identified Ramsdale as the ideal option, but the Blades have slapped a £30 million price tag for him.
Arsenal fans were left disappointed with Emiliano Martinez’s departure last summer after being the star performer with Gunners previous season. The Argentine went to impress at Aston Villa in the 2020-21 season. His stellar performance helped Argentina to win the Copa America title in July this year.
If Arsenal sign Aaron Ramsdale at the asking price, Arteta has to explain the Gunners transfer policies. As they let a player like Martinez go to Aston Villa for £20 million a year ago.
