Serie A will allow 50 per cent of stadium capacity for the new season
Serie A is set to allow stadiums to have 50 per cent of the audience for the upcoming season, with the Italian Government giving the nod.
The Italian Government has also emphasized that fans can only enter the stadium with a Green Pass – the digital certificate issued after a person is vaccinated or tested negative from the COVID-19.
The Green Pass is also mandatory for the people in Italy to attend any sporting events, theatres and restaurants, and it will come into existence from August 6.
The allocated numbers – 50 per cent – is only valid for the White Zones, where restriction levels are minimum.
The 2021/22 Serie A season will commence on August 21, and Inter Milan will begin their title defence against Genoa on the opening day.
Eriksen will not be allowed to play in Serie A with ICD Heart-starter
Inter Milan midfielder Christian Eriksen will not be allowed to play in Serie A unless his defibrillator is removed, insists Italy’s technical-scientific committee.
The Danish star suffered a cardiac arrest in the Euro 2020 campaign, which has since led to a lot of uncertainty about his future.
Now, the former Tottenham star has been placed with ICD to regulate his heartbeat. However, he would be stopped from playing in the Italian top-flight with heart problems.
Francesco Braconaro, a member of the Italian FA’s technical-scientific committee, said: Christian Eriksen cannot be given the all-clear to play in Italy. If the player has the defibrillator removed, therefore confirming the pathology can be resolved, then he can return to play for Inter.”
