Burnley

Burnley welcome a rampant Liverpool side to the turf moor on Sunday afternoon.

The hosts are a team in peril and will need a miracle to keep their place in the Premier League this season.

Sean Dyche’s team have only recorded one win all season, albeit having played four matches less than their opponents. This is a damning report for a team hoping to stay in the Premier League.

Having gone three matches unbeaten, Burnley fans have reason to believe that their season will finally take a good turn, holding both Arsenal and, more recently, Manchester United to a draw in the space of three games. The fans will be particularly pleased with their last outing coming from behind to earn a draw against United.

Following their recent endeavours, Sean Dyche’s men will hope to earn a point against Jurgen Klopp’s machine and keep their hopes of top-flight football alive. With only four points separating them from Newcastle just in 17th position, they will fancy their chances of staying up. But that must begin with a good result here.

Possible Burnley starting line-up

Nick Pope; Connor Roberts, James Tarkowski, Ben Mee, Charlie Taylor; Dwight McNeil, Ashley Westwood, Josh Brownhill, Maxwel Cornet; James Rodriguez, Wout Weghorst.

Injured: Matej Vydra and Johann Berg Gudmundsson

Doubtful: Ashley Barnes and Charlie Taylor

Suspended: None

Liverpool

Liverpool made light work of a depleted Leicester team last time out, beating the Foxes 2-0 without their star duo of Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah, who both represented their respective countries in the just concluded AFCON tournament, although the latter made a second-half appearance to the delight of the Kop.

Two goals from Portuguese player Diogo Jota settled a one-sided affair at Anfield and extended Liverpool’s winning run to five games. They will hope to make it six wins on the bounce when they travel to Lancashire on Sunday.

Jurgen Klopp’s team will be boosted with the return of Mane and Salah and with his new boy Luiz Diaz, who had a promising debut.

With such attacking armaments at his disposal, his team is expected to inflict significant damage on bottom-placed Burnley and play some beautiful football along the line.

With 14 rounds of football left to play, the Reds know they need to keep winning all their matches to keep City on their toes at the top.

Possible Liverpool starting line-up

Alisson Becker, Ibrahima Konate, Virgil van Dijk; Andy Robertson; Fabinho, Jordan Henderson, Thiago Alcantara; Luis Diaz, Mohamed Saah, Diogo Jota.

Injured: None

Doubtful: Divock Origi

Suspended: None
