Key Statistics

Atletico Madrid have lost three of their last five home games in all competitions (W2).

The hosts won two of their last eight league games (D5, L1).

Diego Simeone’s side have conceded two or more goals in five straight competitive matches.

Atletico Madrid

Atletico desperately need to return to winning ways after the loss to Barcelona last time out, and we are expecting the home side to triumph when they play Getafe at the Wanda Metropolitano on Saturday night.

Atletico’s Champions League hopes were dealt a massive blow as they were defeated 4-2 by Barca at the Nou Camp. It would be fair to say that Simeone’s side are facing a battle to secure a Champions League spot for next season, with Real Betis, Barcelona, Villarreal, Real Sociedad and Athletic Bilbao also in the argument.

El Cholo’s team have collected 21 points from their ten home league matches this term, which is a relatively strong record, but they have struggled on their travels, picking up just 15 points from 12 games.

However, they recorded a 2-1 victory when they travelled to Getafe earlier this season, and they have not lost to Getafe in Spain’s top flight since May 2010.

Possible Atletico Madrid starting line-up

Jan Oblak; Sime Vrsaljko, Stefan Savic, Gimenez, Mario Hermoso; Rodrigo De Paul, Koke, Thomas Lemar; Yannick Carrasco, Luis Suarez, Angel Correa.

Injured: Marcos Llorente, Geoffrey Kondogbia and Antoine Griezmann

Doubtful: Daniel Wass

Suspended: None

Getafe

Getafe entered this contest off the back of a 3-0 victory over Levante on February 4, with Enes Unal scoring a brace.

Quique Sanchez Flores’ team have only lost once in Spain’s top flight since the start of November, while they have picked up seven points from their last three league games, which has helped them move clear of the bottom three.

Getafe’s home form this term has been impressive, picking up 20 points from 12 matches, but they have found it difficult on their travels, picking up just five points from 11 games, failing to win in the process, but come into this tie in better form than Atletico Madrid.

The capital side are currently 15th in the table, seven points clear of the relegation zone, and they indeed appear to be heading in the right direction at a vital stage of the season.

Possible Getafe starting line-up

Conde; Damian Suarez, Dakonam, Stefan Mitrovic, Jorge Cuenca, Olivera; Charles Alena, Nemaja Maksimovic, Mauro Arambarri; Sandro Ramirez, Enes Unal.

Injured: David Soria, Mathias Olivera, Jose Juan Macias and Sabit Abdula

Doubtful: None

Suspended: None
