Chelsea Transfer News: Latest on Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, Nathan Ake

Robert Lewandowski-Bayern Munich

Robert Lewandowski

Chelsea have been identified as an option this summer for want-away Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski if Barcelona are unable to complete his signing from the Bundesliga club.

The Polish international is desperate to leave the Allianz Arena this season after growing frustrated at the club. But his desired club Barcelona and parent club Bayern Munich are still locked in negotiations, with the German side valuing the striker far more than Barca are willing to offer.

The Catalan side are currently facing financial challenges, so they have a limited amount of money to spend. As a result, Lewandowski’s dream move to Spain may collapse.

Should that happen, the Pole will be more than happy to join the Premier League side, Chelsea, this summer. According to reports from Germany via The Sun, Lewandowski, would rather join the Blues than stay in Munich.

The Blues are interested in signing the star striker after losing Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan this season. But the Pole will only join the Premier League side if his move to Barca does not materialise.

Raphinha

Elsewhere, Thomas Tuchel’s side have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Leeds United’s Raphinha as transfer rivals Barcelona have reportedly offered Jesse Marsch’s side a lower fee for the Brazilian.

The Blues agreed a £60m fee with Leeds over a week ago but are yet to hear back from Raphinha, who is said to prefer a move to Barca.

But according to The Sun, it now looks like Chelsea may win the race for Raphinha’s signature, given that Xavi’s men are offering a fee short of Leeds’ valuation for the winger.

Meanwhile, a report from GOAL says that Raphinha and his agent Deco have given Barcelona two days to finalise an agreement.

The Catalan club are also close to agreeing on a contract renewal of Chelsea target Ousmane Dembele, making it less likely they will sign the Brazilian who played in the same position.

Nathan Ake

Meanwhile, Chelsea are in advanced talks to re-sign Man City’s Nathan Ake.

The Stamford Bridge side sold the Dutch centre-back to Bournemouth back in 2017 for a £17m fee.

The Blues are looking for defenders this summer after losing Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen to Real Madrid and Barcelona, respectively.
