Chelsea eyeing £84m bid for Chiesa

Juventus winger Federico Chiesa has developed into one of the best players across Europe over the past year and it is no surprise that the Italian international is being linked with a move to the Premier League.

According to reports from Calciomercato, the Blues are now prepared to submit a massive offer to sign the highly talented winger during the January transfer window.

Thomas Tuchel is looking to improve his squad during the winter transfer window, having booked Chelsea’s place in the knockout rounds of the Champions League.

Chelsea are currently leading the Premier League title race as well and it seems that the Blues are determined to compete strongly on all fronts this season.

The arrival of Chiesa will add creativity, pace and flair to the Chelsea attack and the Italian international will certainly improve them in the final third.

The likes of Hakim Ziyech, Christian Pulisic and Callum Hudson-Odoi have not been at their best this season and the Blues could certainly use an upgrade in the wide areas.

Chiesa helped his country win the European Championships earlier this summer and he has been excellent for Juventus as well.

Apparently, Chelsea will submit an £84 million bid for the winger.

Thiago Silva agreement imminent

In other news, the Blues are now closing in on an agreement with Brazilian defender Thiago Silva regarding a new contract.

The 37-year-old has done an exceptional job at Stamford Bridge since his free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain and he is set to be handed a one-year extension.

According to journalist Bruno Andrade, the two parties have initiated contacts regarding a new deal and an agreement between the club and the player is imminent.

Silva will be out of contract at the end of this season and it is no surprise that the Blues are looking to tie him down for another year. The player is expected to return to his boyhood club Fluminense in the near future.
