Liverpool and Chelsea should forget about Haaland-Mbappe and sign Federico Chiesa

Federico Chiesa-Juventus

Italian international Federico Chiesa has had an outstanding year so far and it is hardly a surprise that the top Premier League clubs are being linked with a move for him.

The likes of Liverpool and Chelsea have been mentioned as potential destinations for the 23-year-old winger who helped his country win the European Championships earlier on in the summer.

The winger recently scored the match-winning goal against Chelsea in the Champions League and the Blues must do everything in their power to sign him.

Both Liverpool and Chelsea are in desperate need of a top-class winger and Chiesa is undoubtedly the most exciting wide player in the world right now.

The Italian will add creativity, flair and pace in the final third for both Premier League clubs and it remains to be seen whether they can convince Juventus to part with their prized asset.

Names such as Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe have been dominating the transfer circuit for a while now and Chiesa seems to have gone under the radar.

However, Liverpool and Chelsea should look to forget all about Haaland-Mbappe and concentrate on signing Chiesa instead. He is a player they need and he is likely to cost less.

The winger is currently on loan at Juventus and the Turin giants have an option to sign him permanently.

It remains to be seen how his situation unfolds over the next few months.

Chelsea have needed a top-class winger like him ever since the departure of Eden Hazard and Liverpool need someone to replace the struggling Sadio Mane.

Apart from his attacking qualities, Chiesa is a hard-working player who would be an ideal fit for Jurgen Klopp and Thomas Tuchel’s playing style.

The 23-year-old has all the tools to develop into a world-class footballer and a move to the Premier League could accelerate his development.

A move to the Premier League would make sense for both parties but Juventus have all the power in this situation and they are the ones who will take the final call.
