Liverpool managed to secure a draw against Fulham after Mohamed Salah scored a late penalty.

The Reds were given hard times for the entirety of the game by Fulham, who started to show their intentions from the off.

Alisson Becker was called into action on fewer occasions at the start of the game but the Reds goalkeeper stood strong enough to deny the chances from Fulham.

However, the Brazilian keeper couldn’t do anything with Bobby Reid’s stunning strike, which put the Cottagers ahead.

And the game looked as if it were getting away from the hands of Liverpool but not until they were handed a controversial penalty in the final quarter after Wijnaldum’s strike hit the arms of Kamara. Mohamed Salah stepped up to convert the penalty and the Reds found themselves on level terms. Youngster Curtis Jones nearly scored a sublime goal as he ran from the halfway line before hitting the ball into the hands of Areola.

Although the Reds could have beaten Tottenham to the first place for the time being with a win but a draw is still convincing against the fighting Fulham side.

The Cottagers, elsewhere, have moved just ahead of the relegation zone, currently 17th in the table.

Liverpool will next face Spurs in a crunch Premier League clash midweek as the former one would look to end Jose Mourinho’s undefeated streak this season.
