Former Manchester United striker Owen Hargreaves has lauded Dele Alli after his performance in Tottenham’s win over Ludogorets on Thursday.

The midfielder who was included in the starting eleven for the Europe League game starred on the night, as Spurs ended the game with a 4:0 win over Ludogorets.

Alii has who has only featured in four matches for Spurs this season after being frozen out by Jose Mourinho was instrumental in his sides win, providing two assists and pulling strings for his Spurs.

Reacting to his performance after the game, Hargraves was full of praise for the English man, lauding him for showing a physical edge.

“When he gets physical and gets into the game and gets angry, he plays with the chip on his shoulder,” he said.

“He took those moments to build a bit of confidence, and then the flair comes out. I’m happy for him, I think there’s a special player there, and he’s good to not be playing football”.

Appearing alongside him on BT, Peter Crouch also backed the player to rediscover the form that brought him to prominence before his time ran out.

“When you think of Dele Alli when he first broke in the team, he was hungry, aggressive like Steven Gerrard.” Crouch told BT Sport.

“He was borderline going to be sent off, and that was when he was at his best.”

“But he fell away for whatever reason, and he needs to get back to that level, and I’m sure he will and Spurs fans hope he does that in a Tottenham shirt.”

The Englishman who has been subject to transfer speculations will be hoping to build on his performance on the night and put himself back in contention for Spurs and England.
