Harry Kane ‘loves Tottenham’ and is a key part of the club’s rebuild, says Tottenham’s director of football Fabio Paratici.

Spurs director of football, Fabio Paratici has insisted that Harry Kane ‘loves Tottenham’ and is part of the club’s plan for the future, despite his attempt to leave in the summer.

The England captain tried to engineer a move away from North London last summer but was restricted from signing for Manchester City by club chairman Daniel Levy. With his move blocked, Kane knuckled down and stayed at Spurs, even issuing a public statement where he reiterated his commitment to the Spurs cause.

And now Spurs transfer chief Paratici, who was recruited in the summer from Juventus as part of a technical shakeup at Tottenham, has revealed that Kane ‘loves Tottenham’ and remains a key part of their plans.

Speaking to The Sun Paratici said: “Harry Kane loves Tottenham. We’ve decided to keep Harry last summer to start the rebuilding, and we’re happy with our choice.

“There’s no need of any new talk with Harry. He knows how to share the sense of belonging to Spurs.”

Kane has struggled to hit top form this season and has failed to score in six Premier League games so far.

His struggles have been a concern for many fans and pundits, who believe that his failure to get his desired move to Manchester City is affecting him negatively.

But the North London club are hoping that the 28-year-old will find his scoring touch soon, and relieve the pressure on new coach Nuno Espirito Santo who is facing questions after a poor September that saw Spurs slide down the league table.

Also, with Kane struggling, a lot of speculation is going around that Tottenham are looking to sign another striker to replace or relieve him of the goal-scoring burden at Tottenham. One player whose name has popped up severally in the past weeks is Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic. The Serbian is in impressive form in the Serie A this season and is in a contract impasse with his club who are afraid of losing him for nothing next summer.

But Paratici has addressed those rumours, insisting that Spurs have no interest in the striker ‘for now’.

“Dusan Vlahovic is appreciated by many clubs. It’s normal – he’s not in our plans, for now,’ Paratici said.

“I’m not going to speak about Dusan Vlahovic as he’s under contract with Fiorentina… and also because we’ve got Harry Kane, who’s the best striker in the world.”

Spurs are back in Premier League action against Newcastle United after the international break.
