‘It was very tough’ – Christian Pulisic unhappy with Thomas Tuchel’s decision

Christian Pulisic is unhappy with Thomas Tuchel's decision, as he was not considered a starter for Chelsea. Pulisic will be looking for more game-time this season.

Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic has now questioned Thomas Tuchels decision to drop him in the Champions League last season.

The United States international has had a mixed time at Stamford Bridge since his move from Borussia Dortmund, and the arrival of Thomas Tuchel has not helped his case.

The German manager has used Pulisic as a substitute more often than not in Premier League, and the player will want to play more regularly next season.

Pulisic has revealed that it was difficult to accept the manager’s decision last season.

“He’s always been intense, very competitive. Nothing much has changed,” Pulisic said of his manager.

“Without the crowd noise, you can hear him more, but he doesn’t mean it in a bad way.

“It was very tough. I felt like I was in my best form, and to be back on the bench was extremely tough. When you are in form, you feel good and want to carry on.”

The winger scored a key goal in the Champions League semi-final first leg against Real Madrid, but he was dropped to the bench for the second leg. The player, however, came on as a substitute, and he managed to register an assist for Mason Mount’s goal.

There is no doubt that Pulisic is a quality player, and he could undoubtedly improve Chelsea in the final third.

However, it seems that he has not been able to win Tuchel’s trust yet, and it remains to be seen how the situation unfolds over the next few months.

If Pulisic is ignored for the big matches in future, the player might be tempted to move away from the London club.

The player has been linked with a move away from Chelsea in recent months.
