Juan Bernat signs new deal to end Barcelona speculations
Paris Saint-Germain left-back Juan Bernat has signed a new contract that will keep him at the club until 2025.
It has been reported for a while that Barcelona want to bring the 27-year-old to the Nou Camp to strengthen their defence.
However, the Spaniard has penned a new deal to end the transfer speculations.
Bernat established himself as an integral part of PSG since his transfer from Bayern Munich. Although currently out injured, he would be considered for the starter role under new manager Mauricio Pochettino once he gains full fitness.
I have the impression that Mbappe hides certain truths – Jerome Rothen
Former PSG star Jerome Rothen has taken a slight dig at Kylian Mbappe for being tentative over his future at Parc Des Princes.
Mbappe, whose contract expires next year, has been heavily linked with an exit, with clubs like Real Madrid and Liverpool keeping close tabs on him.
Although Les Parisiens are said to be working on the French World Cup winner’s contract, Rothen is not convinced that Mbappe will continue in his journey in Paris.
“Is he convinced to stay at PSG? I don’t think so, since otherwise his contract would have already been extended.
“I think he felt that his future lay elsewhere. It is not a criticism, he has the right to think like that.”
Rothen added: “I have the impression that he (Mbappe) sometimes hides certain truths.
“It feels like he’s not being direct and I don’t like that very much. Because it means that you are an opportunist, that your goal was to go to Real Madrid.”
