Mohamed Salah is yet to agree over a new year deal, with his current contract expiring in 2023.

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has been in terrific form this season and many consider him as the best player in Europe at the moment.

However, the Reds’ fans might be worried about Salah’s contract issues, with the Egyptian demanding an astronomical pay rise for his new deal.

The Merseyside are said to be pondering on whether to make Salah their highest-paid player or not.

With his current deal expiring in the summer of 2023, the Reds could lose the 29-year-old much sooner to Europe’s top clubs should they fail to agree over a new deal.

Talking about the suitors, Real Madrid and Barcelona are understood to be keeping tabs on Salah’s situation at Anfield.

The two Spanish giants are known for luring some of the best players in the world and it will be no wonder if they do the same with Salah.

However, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has a little transfer advice for Salah should he decide to leave Anfield.

According to a report from El Nacional via Sport Bible, the German manager has requested the Egyptian international to choose Barca over Madrid.

The reason is that Klopp believes Salah could be the central figure at Barca in the post-Lionel Messi era whereas at Madrid, he would struggle to get the limelight because of Karim Benzema, Vinicius Jr and possibly Kylian Mbappe in future.

However, it will be interesting to see whether Barca can afford the signing of Salah given their current financial crisis.

Klopp is also said to have identified potential replacements for Salah in the event of his departure. RB Salzburg’s Karim Adeyemi and Ajax’s Antony are the two prodigious talents the German wants to bring to Anfield.
