Tolisso’s contract at Bayern Munich expires next summer.

PSG have joined the race for Bayern Munich midfielder Corentin Tolisso, whose contract expires next summer.

According to Bavarian Football Works, Les Parisiens see Tolisso as a cheap alternative for long-time target Paul Pogba.

Pogba’s contract at Manchester United also runs out in the summer of 2022, with the midfielder yet to agree to a new deal.

PSG tried their best to sign the 28-year-old in the recently concluded summer transfer window but Messi’s arrival hindered their pursuit.

Now, Les Parisiens are aware of the interest from European giants like Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus for Pogba while the chances of him continuing with Man Utd are also not ruled out.

Hence, Paris Saint-Germain are looking for alternatives elsewhere and have identified Tolisso as a cheaper target.

The 27-year-old joined the Bavarians in 2017 but has failed to live up to his potential due to a string of injuries.

The former Lyon midfielder is currently down the pecking order of Julian Nagelsmann and Bayern would be happy parting ways with him next summer.

PSG signed a host of players as free agents in the previous summer window and it looks like they haven’t changed their transfer strategy.

Tolisso’s salary would be much lower than Pogba’s but it remains to be seen whether the former can create a big impact at a top club like PSG.

Besides the French capital club, Tolisso has plenty of suitors in Inter Milan, Juventus, Atletico Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur.
