Leicester City 0-2 Arsenal: Gabriel, Smith Rowe on target as Arteta’s side continue their impressive run

Arsenal continued their late revival with an impressive 2 -0 victory over Leicester City at King Power Stadium.

The Gunners showed early intentions and they got their deserved lead through defender Gabriel, who headed the ball into the net from Bukayo Saka’s corner-kick. Emile Smith Rowe doubled the lead at the 18th minute to give the visitors a scintillating start to the game.

Leicester City were a whisker away from halving the deficit but James Maddison’s free-kick was denied by a brilliant save from Aaron Ramsdale.

The momentum flew in the Foxes’ way throughout the second half but Ramsdale proved to be a difference-maker with his saves.

The Gunners moved to fifth in the Premier League table, having not lost a single league game since their heavy defeat to Manchester City at the end of August.

Arteta’s men extend their unbeaten run to nine games

The Gunners looked as if they had hit rock bottom after a disastrous start to the season. Mikel Arteta was under mounting pressure and many thought he wouldn’t last long. However, since their defeat to Manchester City at the end of August, the North Londoners haven’t looked back and with today’s victory over Leicester, they have stretched their unbeaten run to 9 games across all competitions. All of a sudden, Arteta is preparing his side to be a top-four contender.

Saka and Smith Rowe shine for the Gunners

The Gunners duo Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe were impressive for the Gunners today, with the former one causing all sorts of problems to Leicester and also involved in both the goals. Smith Rowe’s scoring form has been quite brilliant lately and with the strike against Foxes, he has taken his tally to 4 goals and 2 assists in the last 7 games. The two prospects have been highly involved in Gunner’s late revival and they would be crucial for the next run of fixtures.

Ramsdale, the saviour for Arsenal

The Gunners might have taken a healthy 2-0 lead quickly but if it was not for Ramsdale’s heroics they could have been battered by Brendan Rodgers’ side. Firstly, he made an outstanding save to deny Maddison’s free-kick and he also thwarted Jonny Evans’ chance on the rebound. Leicester went all out in the second half and created some dangerous chances but only were to be denied by Ramsdale. The 23-year-old has put on one of the best goalkeeping displays in the Premier League this season.
