AC Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu has been linked with a move to Liverpool this summer.

According to reports, the player’s entourage has been in contact with the Premier League giants, but the Reds are yet to submit a formal offer.

Liverpool have lost Gini Wijnaldum on a free transfer, and they will look to bring in a quality midfielder to replace the Dutchman.

However, Calhanoglu is a different player in terms of skill set, and it will be pretty surprising if the Premier League side decide to sign him. The player has been linked with Manchester United as well recently.

The Turkish midfielder is excellent with set-pieces, and he would probably add a new dimension to the Liverpool attack if he joins them.

Liverpool need to sign a creative central midfielder this summer, and players like Calhanoglu are more suited to an attacking midfield role.

It will be interesting to see if the Reds follow up on their interest with a concrete offer for the Turkish midfielder in the coming weeks.

The 27-year-old midfielder has nine goals and twelve assists to his name so far this season.

Calhanoglu’s contract with AC Milan expires at the end of June, and he will be available on a free transfer. The 27-year-old midfielder is at the peak of his career right now, and he could prove to be a bargain signing for the Reds.

Before his move to Italy, the Turkish midfielder played for German clubs like Karlsruher, Hamburger and Bayer Leverkusen.

Jurgen Klopp would have watched the player up close from his time managing in the Bundesliga, and it will be interesting to see if Liverpool can pull off the signing in the coming weeks.
