Liverpool dealt Mbappe blow
Liverpool have been dealt a huge blow in the pursuit of PSG star Kylian Mbappe as the Frenchman has set his sights on long-time admirers Real Madrid.
The 21-year-old has been linked with an exit from Parc Des Princes this summer, with Real Madrid and Liverpool said to be interested in his services.
However, Mbbape has seemingly decided to favour a move to Los Blancos to play under the tutelage of his compatriot Zinedine Zidane.
Reds urged to sign Dembele
John Barnes has insisted that the Reds should go out for Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele as he considers the French international to be an ideal fit for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Dembele has breathed fresh air into his career after becoming a regular for Ronald Koeman’s side this season and also put on a string of impressive displays.
Barca are also planning to offer a new deal for the 23-year-old to fend off interest from clubs like Manchester United and Juventus.
Now, Barnes has claimed that the Merseyside outfit should try to sign the former Dortmund star.
“One player that I think could make it at Liverpool is Ousmane Dembele. He would fit right into the front three because his directness is perfect for Liverpool’s way of playing.
“Of all the players linked with Liverpool, he is a player that fans should be excited about. If he wants to continue playing at the biggest clubs like Barcelona then Liverpool is the right club for him.
“He’s a player that fits the way Liverpool plays and I think that Liverpool would be interested in that type of player.”
Nacho’s age a concern, claims former star Emile Heskey
Former Reds star Emile Heskey has claimed that summer target Nacho’s age would be a concern. The Real Madrid defender has been linked with a move to Anfield.
A seasoned pro who reads the game very well. I could see why he’s being connected with Liverpool.
“But, when it comes to Liverpool, they probably need to look to the future too – someone who is a bit younger (Nacho is 31), who you know is going to give you five to ten years of proper service.
“Someone like that would be better.”
