Bayern Munich picked up a 3-1 win over Freiburg in the Bundesliga earlier today.
Goals from Joshua Kimmich and Robert Lewandowski sealed the three points for the champions at home.
Kimmich gave the home side a well deserved lead on the 16th minute and Lewandowski doubled Bayern’s advantage eight minutes later.
Freiburg did well to come back into the game with a goal on the 33rd minute but Lewandowski doubled the lead once again four minutes later.
The Polish striker has now scored his 32nd Bundesliga goal of the season and set a new league record for a foreign-born player.
Bayern have nothing to play for in the league anymore but they managed to turn up and deliver. The German giants will now look to make their mark in the Champions League when the tournament resumes.
The defeat leaves Freiburg 8th in the table with 45 points. Meanwhile, Bayern are comfortably clear at the top with 79 points. They are ten points clear of their nearest challengers, Dortmund.
