Manchester City not ready to include Mahrez, Silva and Jesus in Messi swap deal

Lionel Messi Barcelona star hands in shocking transfer request

The Citizens are willing to offer Angelino and Eric Garcia.

Manchester City are against the idea of selling the first-team players in the efforts to sign Lionel Messi.

According to reports, Man City have decided not to include the trio of Riyad Mahrez, Gabriel Jesus and Bernardo Silva as a makeweight in a deal to lure the wantaway star Messi from Barcelona. The Argentine is looking to part ways with his boyhood club after nearly two decades.

Instead, Citizens are willing to use Angelino and Eric Garcia, who both are said to be on the transfer radar of the Catalans.

Angelino has been considered by the Catalans to strengthen the left-back position, which is currently occupied by Jordi Alba with Junior Firpo as deputy.

Barca are also looking to bring back Garcia to the Nou Camp after refusing to sign a new deal with the Sky Blues. Garcia has enjoyed considerable game time at the Etihad last season, and Barca cite him as the successor to Gerard Pique.

The Blaugrana were in shell shock after hearing that Messi is looking for a life away from the club.

The 33-year-old is also seemingly steadfast in his decision despite the club’s intentions to keep him and reward a contract extension.

Etihad is touted to be a possible destination for the Argentine as he had reportedly contacted Pep Guardiola over a summer move.

City are also willing to sign Messi at all cost however the Blaugrana captain is said to be carrying a price tag worth 700million euros.
