Manchester United have made the signing of Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho the priority signing for this summer ahead of the signing of Erling Haaland, according to reports.

The Red Devils are said to be ready to break the bank to bring Sancho to Old Trafford this summer but are willing to wait another season before signing his Dortmund teammate Erling Haaland.

Sancho, who is valued at around £89 million by BVB, is believed to be a more realistic option than his teammate or England captain for this summer. He is also a player that can add more creativity and spark to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team and sought after by Liverpool.

The 21-year-old England international has been in good form for Dortmund in recent times. He was instrumental in his side’s win over RB Leipzig that secured them the German Cup and was also crucial in their qualification for the Champions League with 10 goals in his last 15 games.

The report also has it that Manchester United are not ready to spend £120million to bring Harry Kane to Old Trafford this summer. They are rather ready to wait 12 months to sign Erling Haaland as their long-term number nine.

The Norwegian who is Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s former player recently expressed his desire to stay at Signal Iduna Park one more season, effectively ending speculations around him this season.

Solskjaer believes that Edinson Cavani, who recently extended his contract with United, will be able to hold the fort until next season when they can sign Haaland.

The Man United coach has also told his bosses that the forward options of Cavani, Sancho, Mason Greenwood, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial would make United competitive.
