Manchester United are reportedly keen on signing the Denmark international midfielder Christian Eriksen this summer.

As per the Athletic, they have now submitted an offer to the player.

The playmaker joined Brentford on a short term deal midway through last season and he was impressive for the newly promoted side.

Eriksen has recovered fully from his injury setback and the player is looking to play at a high level once again. It will be interesting to see if he is willing to move to Old Trafford.

The former Spurs ace has played some of his best football in the Premier League and he could be a superb acquisition for the Red Devils, who are in desperate need of creativity.

The likes of Cristiano Ronaldo lacked ample service from the midfield last season and the arrival of Eriksen would certainly help the attackers.

Furthermore, the midfielder is available on a free transfer and therefore the transfer could prove to be a major bargain for Manchester United.

The player has been linked with Tottenham as well and it will be interesting to see where he ends up.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils are keeping tabs on Frenkie de Jong as well.

The Dutch international has been linked with a move away from Barcelona this summer.

Manchester United need to add more creativity and composure at the middle of the park and De Jong seems like an ideal fit.

The interest in Eriksen has no bearing on the De Jong links and the Red Devils are apparently looking to bolster their midfield with the signing of both players as per Mail.

It remains to be seen whether they can agree on a fee with Barcelona now.
