Arsenal are tracking the contact situation of Bayern Munich star Serge Gnabry according to reports.

The German winger is refusing to sign a new deal at the Allianz Arena. So his former club, Arsenal, are looking to bring him back to the Emirates Stadium.

The 26-year-old spent five years at the Emirates before leaving in 2016 after making just ten appearances for the Gunners’ first team.

Since joining Bayern Munich in the summer of 2017, Gnabry’s stock has risen, becoming one of the most influential figures at the Allianz Arena. He was part of the Bayern team that won the Bundesliga last season, scoring 14 goals and registering six assists in the league.

However, his time at the Bavarian side could end soon as his current deal at the club runs until the end of the 2022/23 season. And so the Bundesliga champions have already hinted that he could leave this window, so they do not lose him for nothing next year.

According to 90min, Arsenal are keeping a watchful eye on the situation, ready to pounce should the possibility of a deal materialise, given that it is increasingly likely that they will not be able to sign Leeds United winger Raphinha. He is reportedly on his way to Chelsea.

Recently, Bayern Munich’s director Hasan Salihamidzic revealed that Gnabry could be sold if the club cannot agree to terms on a contract renewal soon.

“We really want to keep him,” he told Sky Sports Germany.

“I hope that he chooses Bayern. If a player doesn’t want to decide for the club, then we can find a solution that makes everyone happy.”
