Wolverhampton Wanderers were held to a 1-1 draw against Newcastle in the Premier League earlier today.

Raul Jimenez scored a fantastic volley from 25 yards out on the 80th minute to give Wolverhampton Wanderers a well deserved lead.

The likes of Pedro Neto also came close to scoring for the home side.

Meanwhile, Newcastle scored the equalizer on 89th minute when Jacob Murphy converted from a free kick.

The draw leaves Wolverhampton Wanderers 7th in the Premier League table and Newcastle are now 14th.

Jacob Murphy had not started for Newcastle for nearly two years and he will be delighted with his contribution today.

The winger will have surely impressed manager Steve Bruce with his crucial goal and it will be interesting to see if he can hold down a regular starting berth for Newcastle United now.

Allan Saint-Maximin had a fantastic chance to score for Newcastle but he missed a glorious opportunity.

That said, Newcastle have been quite mediocre in the last few outings and they will be expected to perform a lot better in the upcoming games.

Newcastle have the quality to do better and it will be interesting to see if the players manage to step up and deliver.

Nuno will be disappointed to have dropped two points so late in the game. Wolves have not been at their best this season and the result once again shows how vulnerable they can be.

Wolves will have to improve a lot in order to challenge for European qualification this season.
