Tottenham manager Nuno Espirito Santo has asked fans to back Harry Kane after the striker’s 18-minute cameo in his side’s win against Wolves on Sunday.

The England international returned to the Spurs squad for the clash at Wolverhampton, coming on in the last 18 minutes of the game with Tottenham winning 1-0.

The 27-year-old has been a subject of a transfer bid from Manchester City and has made known his desire to leave the club this summer.

Despite his determination to leave the club, he received a warm reception from the travelling fans as he made his way onto the pitch to replace Son. After the final whistle, he also headed over to the away stand to thank them.

After the game, the Tottenham manager called on fans to stick with the player as uncertainty about his future still continues.

‘Of course, we have to be together,’ Nuno said.

‘We are Tottenham Hotspur. Everybody wants to be good. I was pleased with the attitude of our fans. We have amazing fans, and we have to be very thankful for that.’

The manager was also pleased with the striker’s involvement, calling him one of the best players in the world.

‘We need everybody. We need everybody… he played. He took his process. He is getting back to his fitness. He still has to improve, and he helped the team today.

‘He is one of the best players in the world. We are very lucky to have him.’

Dele Alli penalty gave Spurs their second win of the season, and Nuno was quick to praise the dedication of the midfielder who is looking to resurrect his Tottenham career.

‘He’s working very hard, all the team-work very hard,’ Nuno said. ‘Dele did a very good job. He scored at the start of the game, and at the end, he was running all over the field. That shows the levels of fitness he has and the belief he has.’
