Sevilla picked up an impressive 2-0 win over Roma in the Europa League knockouts last night.
Goals from Sergio Reguilon and Youssef En-Nesyri gave them a comfortable victory at a neutral venue.
The two clubs met in Duisberg, Germany after the first leg was called off because of the Coronavirus pandemic. With a lot at stake, Sevilla started the game brightly.
The Spanish side took the lead 21 minutes into the game through Reguilon and they doubled their tally on the stroke of half time.
Roma did well to create chances but they did not manage to convert them into goals.
The Italian side were in good form heading into this game and they will be disappointed to have crashed out of the Europa League.
They had won seven of their last eight league games before this one.
Sevilla are now into the Europa League quarter-finals and they will be looking to go all the way. Their recent history in the Europa League suggests that they could be one of the favourites to win the competition this year.
Bayer Leverkusen, Inter Milan and Manchester United are the other teams capable of doing so.
The last eight teams will now face each other in four different German cities as part of the mini-tournament, with the final on August 21 in Cologne.
