Southampton end Everton’s unbeaten start to the season with a 2-0 win

Southampton picked up a 2-0 win over Everton in the Premier League earlier today.

James Ward-Prowse and Che Adams scored in the first half to give the home side a comfortable lead.

Everton struggled to get back into the game in the second half and Sigurdsson was the only player who came close who scoring for the away side.

The midfielder hit the bar from 20 yards out before Southampton took their lead.

The home side were comfortably better and they deserved to pick up all three points. Everton were chasing shadows right from the start. 

Everton were unbeaten in the Premier League of until now and it will be interesting to see how they bounce back in their next game.

Everton will be without star defender, Lucas Digne in their next game as the Frenchman was sent off for a foul on Kyle Walker-Peters on the 72nd minute.

Digne was shown a straight red card and Ancelotti will be disappointed to have lost him for the next few games.

Despite the defeat, Everton are top on goal difference and Southampton are now up to 5th in the table.

Star striker Danny Ings was instrumental to both goals and the Southampton fans will be delighted to see the 28-year-old pick up from where he left off last season.
