Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement with Barcelona regarding a permanent move for Emerson Royal.
The London club have been linked with quite a few right-backs in recent months and they have agreed to pay a fee of around €30 million for the Brazilian.
The likes of Serge Aurier and Matt Doherty have been quite underwhelming since joining the club and Tottenham needed to bring in a quality full-back this summer.
They have already improved their centre back department with the signing of Cristian Romero and the arrival of Emerson will improve them in the full-back areas as well.
The Londoners signed Sergio Reguilon from Real Madrid last season to improve their left-back position and they have a quality defensive unit at their disposal now.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the player has accepted Tottenham as his next club but the two parties are yet to sort out the personal terms.
It remains to be seen whether the Premier League side can finalise an agreement with the player in the next few hours.
The transfer window closes tomorrow and Tottenham will have to move quickly to get the deal over the line.
As for Barcelona, Emerson was not a key player for them and his departure will certainly help them financially.
The La Liga club are under financial stress right now and they have been trying to offload their fringe players for weeks.
Meanwhile, Emerson will be hoping to play regular first-team football with Tottenham in the Premier League now and the Brazilian will be looking to fulfil his potential at the London club.
