Real Madrid update: Carvajal injury, Ramos to leave this summer-claims Pedrerol

Sergio Ramos-Real Madrid

Carvajal hit with a hamstring injury

Dani Carvajal has been hit with a hamstring injury on his right thigh, confirmed by Real Madrid through an official statement.

Although it is stated that the extension of injury depends on pending tests, the Spanish defender would miss the game against Atalanta in the Champions League round of 16.

Carvajal was forced to leave the pitch even before the clock hit the half-hour mark during the game against Valencia.

Lucas Vazquez is expected to fill the void of Carvajal since both Eder Militao and Alvaro Odriozola have also been injured.

Zinedine Zidane has also been left frustrated with the growing injury concerns at the crucial stage of the season.

Pedrerol claims Ramos is leaving

Spanish Journalist Josep Pedrerol is the latest one to comment on Sergio Ramos’ future as he stated that the Spanish defender will leave Madrid this summer.

Ramos’ contract expires at the end of the season and Madrid are finding it hard to strike a lucrative new deal given the financial crisis created by the pandemic.

Pedrerol claims that Madrid wouldn’t offer their captain more money at this time.

“Sergio Ramos is leaving Real Madrid,” said Pedrerol.

“I don’t think there’s any possibility of him staying. There’s no way back.

“In these circumstances, Real Madrid won’t offer him more money.”

Pedrerol also hit out at Ramos for not giving up on the negotiations and instead should have accepted lower terms amid the current situation.

It’s a shame and I think Ramos is making a mistake,” he added.

“Make an effort. Take 10 per cent less and sign for two years and then, if the financial situation improves, this can improve too.”
