Spain and Real Madrid Captain Ramos -The Country needs football

The Spaniard has emerged as one of the targets for Man City next summer.

Real Madrid centre-back Sergio Ramos is on the verge of running out his contract this summer with no signs of extension talks at the moment.

The Spaniard is now free to negotiate with other clubs and perhaps, many of European heavyweights are understood to be keeping close tabs on him ahead of a free transfer this summer.

PSG, Tottenham, Manchester United are some of the potential suitors for Ramos and now Manchester City have also reportedly joined the race.

The report also adds that Pep Guardiola is an admirer of the 34-year-old, who Citizens are thinking that he can be able to play for few years at the highest level and his leadership skills are also an added advantage.

Furthermore, Ramos’ wage demands can be met by Man City while it is the problem he is facing with Madrid currently.

Sky Blues signed Nathan Ake and Ruben Dias in the summer yet they are looking to add reinforcements in the defence by signing a veteran like Ramos.

Although there are possibilities that the Spanish defender would renew his contract eventually, City want to remain in pole position to sign him.

Ramos had earlier stated his uncertainty over his future at Bernabeu, thus handing all of his potential suitors a big boost.

Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane also wants the former Sevilla star to continue playing at Bernabeu for years.
