Tottenham picked up a convincing 3-1 win over Sheffield United in the Premier League earlier tonight.
Serge Aurier scored the opening goal of the game on the 5th minute after the defender headed in a corner from close range.
Tottenham doubled their advantage 5 minutes before the break when Harry Kane converted an exquisite pass from Pierre Emile Hojbjerg for his 12th League goal of the season.
Sheffield United got back into the game around the hour mark when David McGoldrick headed in from Jon Fleck’s cross.
However, Tottenham were the better side on the night and they proved it once again when Tanguy Ndombele lobbed the ball into the Sheffield United net from an acute angle to give Tottenham a comfortable away win.
The win takes Tottenham ahead of Manchester City on 33 points and Sheffield United are at the bottom of the table after the defeat.
It will be interesting to see if Tottenham can build on this victory and put together a winning run now.
They were firmly in the title race a few weeks ago and Jose Mourinho will be hoping to get his side back amongst the elite once again.
As for Sheffield United, they will have to improve immensely if they want to beat relegation this season.
Tottenham were easily the best team on the night and they deserved all three points here. Chris Wilder’s men have been quite underwhelming this season and it remains to be seen whether they can turn their season around in the coming months.
