Tottenham Hotspur 4-0 Sheffield United: Bale hat-trick thrashes relegated Blades

Gareth Bale-Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs registered their second league win under makeshift manager Ryan Mason.

Tottenham picked up a comprehensive 4-0 win over Sheffield United after a stunning hat-trick from loan star Gareth Bale.

Ryan Mason looked happy to see his side dominate the game straight off the bat, with the trio of Heung-min Son, Harry Kane and Bale creating more danger upfront.

Yet a goal was still missing from the home side, and finally, it popped up in the 36th minute through the Welshman, who Serge Aurier cleverly picked out.

Bale scored his second of the night at the hour mark, and the goal reminded everyone of his old times where he was at his peak. He soon completed his hat-trick to make it 3-0 for Spurs before Son added another goal to put the game to bed.

The on-loan Real Madrid star has had bouts of inspiring moments this season, and he would be crucial for Tottenham’s top-four dreams.

Perhaps, the win has seen Spurs climb two places up the table past Liverpool vs West Ham United to fifth-place and are only five points away from Chelsea.

Mason has come when the pressure is almost double than before, but the young gaffer looks determined to end the season on a high note.

The North Londoners completely held off the Blades as they registered only one shot on target to the home side’s 12 attempts.

Leeds United will be the first of four opponents pending in this season for Spurs, who would look to build on the impressive win they had tonight.
