Tottenham Hotspur among Premier League clubs keen on Jesse Lingard

Jesse Lingard-West Ham United

Tottenham are reportedly keen on signing Jesse Lingard on a free transfer this summer

The 29-year-old is currently a free agent after his contract with Manchester United expired last month.

Lingard needs to join a club where he can play regular first-team football, and it will be interesting to see if a move to Spurs appeals to him.

The England international barely had a look in at Old Trafford last year, but his loan spell at West Ham prior to that was quite eventful. It is evident that he can be a useful player in the Premier League

Spurs could definitely use depth in the final third, and Lingard could be a good addition on a free transfer.

Meanwhile, West Ham, Everton and Newcastle are keen on signing the player as well, according to Telegraph. All three clubs could provide the player with more game time than Spurs. The Londoners already have Kane, Son and Richarlison in their ranks.

It remains to be seen where the former Manchester United attacker ends up this summer. He needs to play regularly in order to make it to England’s World Cup squad, and a move to Spurs might not be ideal for him.

Lingard will add goals and creativity to any side he joins. He can play anywhere across the front three, and his versatility will be an added bonus.

On a free transfer, Lingard is a lucrative option, and it is no surprise that multiple Premier League clubs want to snap him up. He is well settled in English football, and he could hit the ground running next season.

It will be interesting to see if West Ham decide to bring him back to the club after the way he performed under David Moyes during his loan spell the season before the last.
