Manchester United are keen on signing Christian Eriksen on a free transfer this summer.

The Denmark international is currently a free agent after his contract expired with Brentford, and it will be interesting to see where he ends up. Apparently, the Bees are keen on extending his stay at the club.

Tottenham, Everton, Newcastle and Leicester are looking to sign the player as well.

As per Star, Manchester United are the ones leading the chase after making a verbal offer to the player. They are prepared to pay £150,000 a week to the playmaker, as per Mirror

Eriksen was outstanding for Brentford last season, and he could be a useful option for Erik Ten Hag next season.

It is no secret that the Red Devils need to improve their attacking unit. The arrival of Eriksen will provide more service for the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo to feed on.

Furthermore, he will add a new dimension to the United side from set-pieces.

Ten Hag will be looking to get the side back into the top four, and the Red Devils will need to improve their squad in order to secure Champions League qualification.

Eriksen is well settled in the league, and he is likely to make an immediate impact. Also, the fact that he can be snapped up on a free transfer makes a move a no-brainer.

It will be interesting to see if United can fend off the competition from the other Premier League clubs and seal the move. Clubs like Spurs can offer him Champions League football, and Eriksen has played for the London side in the past, and a return could be tempting for him.

The midfielder needs to join a club where he can play regularly, and therefore game time assurances could be crucial to any potential move.
