Tottenham are keen on signing the Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves if reports are to be believed.
The Portuguese midfielder has done very well since joining Wolves and he would be a superb signing for Jose Mourinho’s side.
The Londoners have two good midfielders in Ndombele and Sissoko but they need a controller who will recycle possession and set the tempo.
Neves would be a perfect fit. The Wolves ace is not just an excellent passer. He is adept at evading the press and he is lethal from the long range.
If Spurs manage to sign him this summer, he could sort out their midfield for years to come.
Neves and Ndombele would be a formidable partnership for Spurs. In theory, it could be one of the best midfield pairings across Europe. Both players are young and they are world class talents.
With the right coaching, they have what it takes to develop into superstars in future.
Wolves will not want to sell their best midfielder and Spurs must come up with a massive offer to change their mind.
With the market still reeling from the Coronavirus losses, it seems unlikely that Tottenham could afford to spend a lot on Neves this summer.
Mourinho is expected to have a restricted transfer budget.
It will be interesting to see if Spurs make a bid for Neves in the coming weeks.
Neves might be tempted to work with a world class manager like Mourinho at a big club like Spurs. Furthermore, he is represented by Jorge Mendes, who happens to be a close friend of Mourinho.
That said, finances could complicate any move this summer.
