Paris Saint-Germain picked up a 4-2 win over Strasbourg in the French league earlier tonight.

Goals from Mauro Icardi, Kylian Mbappe, Julian Draxler and Pablo Sarabia sealed an impressive home win for the Ligue 1 outfit.

Summer signing Lionel Messi watched from the stands as Mauricio Pochettino’s men picked up a reasonably comfortable win at home.

Here at Anytime football, we look at the three major talking points from tonight’s contest.

PSG looking sharp in the final third

Despite the fact that the French outfit were without Neymar and Lionel Messi tonight, they were quite sharp in the final third and managed to score four goals.

PSG are only going to improve with the return of Neymar and Messi in the starting lineup are they will be firm favourites to lift the domestic title.

Having missed out on the title last season the French giants will be desperate to secure their domestic crown this time around and they have certainly made an impressive start to the season.

Defensive vulnerabilities

PSG with 3-0 up in 30 minutes and it seemed like they would secure a massive win tonight.

However, they were poor at the back and Strasbourg managed to score two goals to make the hosts nervous during the second half of the game.

The French outfit will be hoping to win the title this season and they will have to tighten up at the back in order to do so.

PSG only getting started

The French outfit managed to pick up two wins in their first two matches of the league campaign and they are only just getting started.

Summer signings Lionel Messi, Sergio Ramos, Achraf Hakimi, Gianluigi Donnarumma and Georginio Wijnaldum were introduced to the fans before the game and they are likely to make their mark in  French football in the coming months.

PSG will undoubtedly improve when their summer signings start to bed in and they will be firm favourites to secure domestic glory this season.
