Barcelona scout German Vaya Mani has urged the club to sign the Sevilla midfielder Bryan Gil at the end of this season.
The 19-year-old attacking midfielder is currently on loan at Eibar and he has picked up three goals and two assists so far this season.
The midfielder has a €35 million release clause in his contract and it will be interesting to see if Barcelona decides to activate that at the end of the season.
The Barcelona scout has warned that the player’s release clause could increase a lot if he renews with Sevilla and the Spanish giants must look to capitalize on his current valuation and snap him up as soon as possible.
“Right now he is Spain’s best footballer and I compare him with Neymar,” Mani said.
“He can do certain things and has great versatility, as he can play at full-back in the middle or on the left-wing. It’s impressive.
“I have spoken with Roman Planes about him and he has Bryan Gil in mind.
“If he is signed now then his release clause is 35m euros, but if he signs a new deal with Sevilla, then he’ll have a release clause worth 150m euros.”
Gil is rated highly in Spain and he has a big future ahead of him. He needs to play regularly in order to fulfil his potential and it will be interesting to see if he is keen on moving to Barcelona.
The youngster might not get regular opportunities at the Spanish club right now and a loan move would be ideal for him. A move to Barcelona only makes sense if they are willing to loan him out immediately.
He must look to make a decision that will benefit his development in the long term. Sitting on the bench at a top club like Barcelona won’t help him right now and therefore staying at Sevilla might not be such a bad option for him.
