Paris Saint-Germain forward Angel di Maria is closing in on a move to Juventus on a free transfer, according to football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian reports that Di Maria is wanted by the Serie A side this summer and will seal a one-year deal with them this week.

The Argentina winger’s contract at PSG expires this summer, and he is expected to leave the club after seven seasons in France.

According to Romano, Di Maria will receive a one-year contract with the option of another year and a salary of €7 million net per year.

The short contract means the Old Lady cannot use the Growth Decree – a tax relief that only comes into effect over a three-year period.

Di Maria joined PSG from Manchester United in 2015 and has won five league titles in Parc de Princes.

Before joining Manchester United, the 34-year-old spent four seasons at Real Madrid, where he won a La Liga title, the Champions League and the Copa del Rey.

He was part of the Argentina team that reached the 2014 World Cup final and was instrumental in Argentina winning the Copa America last year.

Di Maria will take up the role vacated by Paulo Dybala, who is expected to join Inter Milan this summer.

He is likely to be joined by Paul Pogba in the coming weeks.
