AS Roma are reportedly unhappy with Tottenham over the bid they have submitted for attacking midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo.

The north London club want to bring the Italy international to the Tottenham Hotspur stadium. But the bid they have so far submitted to Roma does not sit well with the Italian side.

According to a report by 90min, Spurs have proposed to take Zaniolo on loan for the season with an obligation to buy for €25m plus a further €10m in add-ons at the end of the season-long loan.

But the offer was rejected by the Serie A side, who want at least €50m if they are to sell the player at all this summer. The Europa Conference League winners are open to letting Zaniolo leave on an initial loan with a purchase clause, but it must be closer to their €50 million valuation of the player.

But Antonio Conte’s men are wary of the 23-year-old’s poor fitness record – which includes consecutive ACL injuries in both of his knees. And so they want to see how he fares physically in the Premier League before they can commit to paying the sum Roma is demanding.

Regardless of Roma’s current position, Tottenham managing director of football Fabio Paratici will continue to talk with Jose Mourinho’s side over a deal as they look to make another signing of the summer window.
