Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini was reportedly spotted slamming his club’s performance during the 1-0 defeat against Empoli.

The veteran defender was seen having a conversation with manager Max Allegri midway through the game, during which he said: It is not a team.

Juve were off to a worst possible start to Serie A, drawing against Parma in the opening game while succumbing to a narrow defeat against newly-promoted Empoli last weekend.

The Bianconeris’ worrying form also coincides with Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure to Manchester United.

The Portuguese talisman was the pivotal figure in the attack over the last three seasons, finishing as the club’s top scorer all the time.

However, the 36-year-old surprisingly sought a transfer request before the season opener against Parma.

Ronaldo’s absence was clearly felt in the defeat against Empoli. Still, it remains to be seen whether Federico Chiesa and Paulo Dybala can take more responsibility in the attack in the long run.

Juve endured a lacklustre season under rookie manager Andrea Pirlo last term, which saw them lose their dominance in Serie A to Inter Milan. Furthermore, they fought until the final matchday to secure a place in the Champions League.

As a consequence, the Old Lady re-signed Max Allegri, who was the mastermind for the club’s monopoly in the last decade.

However, as it is panning out, the Italian gaffer is off to an underwhelming start in his second spell.
