Sassuolo
Sassuolo will welcome Inter Milan to Mapei Stadium this Saturday looking to make it three consecutive league wins for the second time this calendar year.
In a historic fixture which saw the first-ever instance of a woman refereeing a Serie A (SA) fixture, the hosts registered the club’s joint-biggest win by hammering Salernitana 5-0. The win made it consecutive victories for the hosts, halting a four-game winless streak (D3, L1) and reigniting a top-six push for Alessio Dionisi’s men who come into this round of games sitting in ninth place.
Their impressive numbers this season has been built on the foundations of a solid defence that has kept five clean sheets this season. Impressively no side has kept more clean sheets than Sassuolo in this league campaign, with three of those coming at home.
That includes a shutout against AC Milan in a goalless draw at home. And so, the home fans will hope to see a repeat against their San Siro cousins, especially as Inter Milan are the team that has delivered two of the three joint-heaviest defeats for Sassuolo (both 7-0).
Possible Sassuolo starting line-up
Andrea Consigli, Jeremy Toljan, Martin Erlic, Gianmarco Ferrari, Rogerio; Maxime Lopez, Davide Frattesi, Kristian Thorstvedt; Armand Lauriente, Emil Konradsen Ceide, Andrea Pinamonti.

Inter Milan
Inter Milan will look to build on their impressive 1-0 win over Barcelona when they face Sassuolo on Saturday.
The visitors who have been shocking in Serie A this season won their second UEFA Champions League game of the season on Tuesday, as they defeated Spanish and Group C giants Barcelona, increasing their chances of qualifying from the aptly-named group of death.
After the game, manager Simone Inzhagi said that the result was a “wonderful night that marks the beginning of something”, no doubt hinting toward his side improving their poor league form.
The win ended a run of two consecutive league defeats for Inter who were beaten 3-1 by Udinese just before the international break and 2-1 at home by AS Roma last weekend. This means that the Nerazzurri have lost three of their last four league games and they come into this tie sitting in the ninth position, eight points behind Serie A leaders Napoli.
All three losses saw them drop their guard after scoring the match opener, while they also conceded 2+ goals in each of those losses. They have also conceded three times in each of their last three SA away losses, which will probably be a concern for Inzhagi.
Given that they travel to Reggio Emilia with the possibility of losing four away league games in a row for the first time since August 2016, a run that included a 3-1 away defeat to Sassuolo, they will be desperate for a win to avoid such an unwanted record.
Possible Inter Milan starting line-up
Samir Handanovic; Milan Skriniar, Francesco Acerbi, Alessandro Bastoni; Denzel Dumfries, Hakan Calhanoglu, Nicolo Barella, Kristjan Asllani, Federico Dimarco; Edin Dzeko, Lautaro Martinez.
Injured: Alex Cordaz, Marcelo Brozovic
