Diogo Dalot has emerged as the No.1 target for AS Roma.

AS Roma manager Jose Mourinho is considering raiding Manchester United for Diogo Dalot.

The Portuguese full-back has been deprived of game time since moving from Porto to Old Trafford in 2018.

However, Dalot is beginning to gain confidence after starting in United’s last two Premier League games against Arsenal and Crystal Palace.

The 22-year-old was impressive in both games and he is expected to overthrow Aaron Wan-Bissaka from the starter role in the upcoming games.

According to The Sun, Mourinho has informed Roma’s hierarchy about his desire to sign Dalot, whom the veteran manager sees as a great option to strengthen the defence.

Dalot, perhaps, was signed by the Red Devils during Mourinho’s reign.

The Portuguese full-back would also have no problems in adapting to Serie A, having spent a season on loan at AC Milan.

Dalot wants to succeed at Old Trafford

Amid the exit speculations, Dalot has insisted that he wants to succeed with the Red Devils.

Dalot has been experiencing a change in fortunes lately and he is determined to give everything to Man Utd.

Dalot said (h/t The Daily Mail): “It’s what I’m here for. It’s not easy when you’re outside [the starting XI] and you don’t play as much.

“But our job is to keep ready and I think I was doing a fantastic job outside the pitch being ready.

“When the opportunity comes, I now feel I need to keep going and give everything when I’m on the pitch too.”
