Fiorentina picked up a thrilling 4-3 win over AC Milan in Serie A earlier tonight.

Joseph Alfred Duncan opened the scoring for the home side and the likes of Riccardo Saponara and Dusan Vlahovic chipped in with goals as well.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored twice for Milan and the visitors benefited from an own goal from Lorenzo Venuti as well.

Here at Anytime football, will look at the three major talking points from tonight’s contest.

Fiorentina will do well to hold on to Vlahovic the season

The Serbian striker has been in exceptional form since the start of last season and he was heavily linked with a move away from the Italian club earlier this summer.

The young striker has shown that he has the quality to play at a higher level and it will be interesting to see if the Italian side can hold onto his services beyond the January transfer window.

Blow for Milan in the title race

AC Milan have been in exceptional form this season and tonight was their first defeat of the campaign.

It was a glorious opportunity for them to pull clear of Napoli with a win and the defeat leaves them on level points with the league leaders who have a game in hand.

Napoli could establish a three-point lead with a win over Inter Milan tomorrow and AC Milan will be thoroughly disappointed to have missed the opportunity to climb to the top of the table tonight.

Ibrahimovic will be key to Milan’s scudetto dreams

The 40-year-old striker continues to impress with his performances and he chipped in with two vital goals in the second half for AC Milan when his side needed him the most.

The Swedish international could have easily scored a hat trick but he hit the crossbar instead and Milan will need him firing on all cylinders if they are to win the league title this season.
