Brazilian legend Ronaldinho wants to come out of retirement and play for Diego Maradona’s team Gimnasia.

The former Barcelona wizard is currently under house arrest after his attempt to enter Paraguay with a fake passport.

Ronaldinho has not played football since 2015 and it will be interesting to see how the 40-year-old adapts to competitive football at this age.

The 40-year-old retired with Fluminense five years ago.

Apparently, Maradona wants the midfielder to join the club but there hasn’t been any official negotiation yet.

Once Ronaldinho’s house arrest is over, the two parties are expected to meet and thrash out a deal.

The Brazilian is one of the most gifted footballers of his generation and his return to football will certainly excite the fans.

That said, he is unlikely to be at his best and therefore the expectations will have to managed carefully regarding his performances.

In other news, Arjen Robben is planning to come out of retirement as well.

As per reports, the former Bayern Munich winger will return to action with his boyhood club Groningen.

Robben is 36 and it will be interesting to see how the move works out.

He used to be a world class winger during his time at Bayern and he will be looking to make an impact at his boyhood club now.

Speaking to the media about the move, Robben said: “It is my dream to wear the Groningen shirt again. I don’t know yet whether this will work. What I do know is that it will not depend on my commitment and motivation. The club can use any help during this period to get through the corona crisis. These past weeks I’ve had many conversations with club staff and maybe more than anything I’ve listened to the call of our supporters: Arjen, follow your heart!”
