Solskjaer is on the verge of losing his job after United’s embarrassing defeat against Watford.

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is on the verge of losing his job after the disastrous defeat to Watford in the Premier League last night.

Famed Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported that United have decided to sack the Norwegian manager after a crisis meeting.

Solskjaer has had it coming after being winless in the last seven Premier League games.

Talking about his replacement, former Real Madrid Zinedine Zidane appears to be high on the list of the Red Devils.

The French gaffer has been without a job since parting ways with the Spanish capital club in the summer.

Despite his excellent CV – a hat-trick of UCL titles and a La Liga title, a section of United fans on Twitter feel that Zidane is not the ideal man to replace Solskjaer.

They feel that Zidane can’t replicate the similar success at Old Trafford due to the quality of the squad he would inherit.

There were claims about Erik ten Hag replacing Solskjaer as the next manager as the fans feel the Ajax manager can help United get out of the crisis.

Ten Hag, who is on United’s radar, has established himself as one of the top managers in Europe due to his success at Ajax and favouring a highly attacking brand of football. However, he recently shrugged off the speculations, stating that he is happy in Amsterdam.

United are currently seventh in the Premier League table and it would be some task for the manager whoever is going to replace Solskjaer.
