Italian international Giorgio Chiellini is looking to continue his stint with Juventus by signing a new contract with the Serie A giants.

The player’s agent Davide Lippi has now claimed that the 36-year-old wishes to continue playing for the foreseeable future, and he wants to continue playing for the Bianconeri.

However, the player’s agent added that a lot would depend on the club’s wishes, whether they are open to keeping the player.

He statedGiorgio is very calm, very calm. There is nothing new. To imagine that Chiellini will stay away from the game would be absurd, so I’m sure he will continue to play. Chiellini wants to stay at Juventus, but marriages are done with two.”

There have been reports that the Turin giants are prepared to hand the defender a one year contract.

The defender is currently a free agent after his contract expired with Juventus, and it will be interesting to see if the Italian outfit can tie him down to a new deal in the coming days.

Despite being 36, Chiellini remains an outstanding defender, and his leadership qualities could prove to be invaluable for the Juventus dressing room.

The centre back proved his quality during this summer’s European Championships when he guided his country to the trophy.

Keeping him at the club for the coming season at the very least is a no-brainer, and Juventus could regret their decision if they let the Italian international leave this summer.
