Manchester City are reportedly interested in signing the Barcelona forward Antoine Griezmann this summer.
The Premier League giants have been linked with the likes of Harry Kane and Jack Grealish as well, but the two players are likely to cost an absurd amount of money, and the French international could prove to be a bargain in that regard.
According to reports, Griezmann is a long term target for Pep Guardiola, who sees him as the ideal signing to continue a system with a false nine.
Griezmann has had a mixed time at the Spanish club since joining them from Atletico Madrid, and a move to Manchester City could be a fresh start for him.
There is no doubt that the Frenchman is a top-class footballer who would be a quality addition for the Premier League champions.
Griezmann has the quality and the experience to make an immediate impact in the Premier League next year, and it will be interesting to see if City can convince Barcelona to sell the player.
The Spanish club have recently signed Sergio Aguero on a free transfer, and Griezmann might see his game time reduced because of the Argentine’s arrival.
Meanwhile, City are left with just one recognized striker in Gabriel Jesus, and the attacking department should be their main focus in the transfer market this summer.
Bringing in either Harry Kane or Antoine Griezmann would be ideal for Guardiola’s side, and it will be interesting to see who they end up signing eventually.
