Ibrahimovic to hand Milan’s next penalty to team-mate Franck Kessie

Zlatan Ibrahimovic set to sign a one-year deal with AC Milan

The 39-year-old missed another penalty in Milan’s 2-2 draw against Hellas Verona

AC Milan star Zlatan Ibrahimović has said that he could let Franck Kessie take the penalty next time after missing a one against Hellas Verona.

However, Ibrahimovic redeemed it with an equaliser in injury time, helping Milan pick up a 2-2 draw against Verona at San Siro.

Ibrahimovic was left frustrated with his third penalty miss of this season and said that he could allow Kessie to take the penalty next time.

The Swede said, “It’s obvious I’m angry, a draw today is not good, we had a lot of chances and I also missed the penalty.’ ‘I might let Kessie take the next one.”

Kessie, who scored the first goal for Milan last night, had been Rossoneri’s primary penalty taker before Ibrahimovic returned to San Siro.

Nonetheless, Ibrahimovic has been in impressive form this season, currently topping the scoring charts in Serie A with eight goals.

The Swede’s form is another reason why Stefano Pioli’s men are leading the race for Scudetto with 17 points, two points clear of Sassuolo.

Ibrahimovic also demanded a break after continuously plying his trade between Serie A and Europa League.

“I need a rest. I didn’t have the sharpness and usual determination I have in front of goal. I just felt like I wasn’t all there.”

Pioli also gave his thoughts on the congested schedule while praising his side for putting a come-back.

“Suffice to say that we will have 10 matches in 31 days, starting from November 22.”

“We came from a defeat in our last game, we were two goals down and we showed the reaction of a strong team.”
