Inter Milan 2-2 Parma: Ivan Perisic’s last-gasp equaliser saves Inter

A double from Parma’s Gervinho was cancelled out by Inter

Inter have picked up an unimpressive yet thrilling 2-2 draw against Parma at San Siro.

The Nerazzurri were on the front foot in the opening minutes and Ivan Perisic hit his shot over the post when he was clearly on an advantageous position after being picked out by a long pass from Nico Barella.

However, Gervinho put Parma ahead just after a minute in the second half when he scored a fantastic volley. The 33-year-old piled on Inter’s pain as he completed his double in the 62nd minute, making an elusive run behind Inter’s defence before slotting the ball into the nets past Samir Handanovic.

The Nerazzurri replied with a goal minutes later after Marcelo Brozovic, who had just come off the bench, received the ball with a fine first touch before running into space to release his shot.

With the game entering the injury time, Inter pulled off an equalizer after Perisic’s header found the nets from a brilliantly taken set-piece from Kolarov.

Inter have managed to scrape up results in stoppage time for around three times this season notwithstanding their lacklustre performances.

The absence of Romelu Lukaku was strongly felt as Inter were found less productive without their top scorer of this season this far.

Antonio Conte’s side is off to a tumultuous start this season after dropping points in the last five games. Inter’s Champions League start has been somewhat underwhelming after the results against Shakhtar Donetsk and Monchengladbach.
