Joao Felix inspires Atletico Madrid to 3-1 win against Osasuna

Joao Felix-Atletico Madrid

The Portuguese youngster has continued his impressive form in the away win.

Atletico Madrid have beaten Osasuna 3-1 at their home, with Joao Felix putting up a masterclass.

The hosts showed early ambitions as their crosses posed a threat for Simeone’s men.

Joao Felix had a great chance to put his side ahead in the 25th minute when Osasuna’s goalkeeper was dragged out of position, but he failed to find the nets.

Felix soon salvaged it by scoring a penalty before the half time to give Atletico the lead.

However, the Portuguese ace missed the chance to double up the lead, this time his penalty hit the post.

But it was Felix again who scored the second goal of the game, firing in a powerful shot to the nets after the assist from Angel Correa.

Correa also had a great game to remember and one of his shots hit the woodwork in the second half.

On the other hand, Osasuna had a few opportunities to open their account, with Jan Oblak saving one of them. He was beaten eventually in the  80th minute as the hosts pushed for the equaliser.

Lucas Torreira, who was fresh off the bench, scored the final goal to prevent Osasuna’s hopes of a comeback.

The Colchoneros are now without a defeat in any of La Liga games this season and perhaps the only club to hold this record.

Felix has produced another scintillating display following his performance against Salzburg in the Champions League.
